Flare, an emergency response platform has been shortlisted among 12 other startups in Africa for the 2019 MIT Inclusive Innovation Challenge .

Flare is helping EMTs do the important work of saving lives every day. The platform equips first responders with vital information and resources to best respond to emergencies.

Announced by the MIT Initiative on the Digital Economy, 60 Regional Finalists were selected for their 2019 global future of work innovations and stand chance to win the MIT Inclusive Innovation Challenge (IIC) Prize of $1.6m or around $250,000 each.

The 60 Regional Finalists now proceed to regional events in five regions – US & Canada, Latin America, Europe, Africa, and Asia – where they will pitch their solutions live to a panel of regional innovation experts.

Twenty Regional Winners, four from each region, will then proceed to the Global Grand Prize Gala at MIT on November 21 where $250,000 will be awarded to each of four Grand Prize Winners.

African Regional Event will hold on September 20, 2019 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
